Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Aggression
  2. anxiety
  3. blurred vision
  4. burning, dry, or itching eyes
  5. decrease in the amount of urine
  6. discharge, excessive tearing
  7. dizziness
  8. dry mouth
  9. ear congestion
  10. fast, slow, pounding, or irregular heartbeat or pulse
  11. fever
  12. headache
  13. irregular heartbeats
  14. irritability
  15. mental depression
  16. mood changes
  17. noisy, rattling breathing
  18. numbness or tingling in the arms or legs
  19. pounding in the ears
  20. redness, pain, swelling of eye, eyelid, or inner lining of the eyelid
  21. restlessness
  22. runny or stuffy nose
  23. shaking
  24. sneezing
  25. sore throat
  26. swelling of the fingers, hands, feet, or lower legs
  27. trouble thinking, speaking, or walking
  28. trouble breathing
  29. trouble sleeping
  30. unusual tiredness or weakness
  31. weight gain

Incidence not known

  1. Backache
  2. bloody, black, or tarry stools
  3. cough or hoarseness
  4. darkening of the skin
  5. decrease in height
  6. decreased vision
  7. diarrhea
  8. eye pain
  9. eye tearing
  10. facial hair growth in females
  11. fainting
  12. fever or chills
  13. flushed, dry skin
  14. fractures
  15. fruit-like breath odor
  16. full or round face, neck, or trunk
  17. heartburn or indigestion (severe and continuous)
  18. increased hunger
  19. increased thirst
  20. increased urination
  21. loss of appetite
  22. loss of sexual desire or ability
  23. lower back or side pain
  24. menstrual irregularities
  25. muscle pain or tenderness
  26. muscle wasting or weakness
  27. nausea
  28. pain in the back, ribs, arms, or legs
  29. painful or difficult urination
  30. skin rash
  31. stomach pain or cramps
  32. sweating
  33. trouble healing
  34. unexplained weight loss
  35. vision changes
  36. vomiting
  37. vomiting of material that looks like coffee grounds

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Hives
  2. increased appetite
  3. large, hive-like swelling on the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or sex organs
  4. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, or lips

Incidence not known

  1. Abnormal fat deposits on the face, neck, and trunk
  2. acne
  3. dry scalp
  4. lightening of normal skin color
  5. red face
  6. reddish purple lines on the arms, face, legs, trunk, or groin
  7. swelling of the stomach area
  8. thinning of the scalp hair
