Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Rare

  1. Black, tarry stools
  2. blood in urine or stools
  3. cough or hoarseness
  4. fever or chills
  5. headaches (severe or sudden)
  6. loss of coordination (sudden)
  7. lower back or side pain
  8. painful or difficult urination
  9. pains in chest, groin, or leg (especially calf of leg)
  10. pinpoint red spots on skin
  11. shortness of breath (sudden, for no apparent reason)
  12. slurred speech (sudden)
  13. unusual bleeding or bruising
  14. vision changes (sudden)
  15. weakness or numbness in arm or leg

Check with your doctor as soon as possible if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Swelling of feet or lower legs

Rare

  1. Skin rash or fever
  2. unusual tiredness or weakness

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Breast tenderness or enlargement
  2. decreased interest in sex
  3. diarrhea
  4. nausea

Less common

  1. Trouble in sleeping
  2. vomiting

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
