Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Back pain
  2. bloating or swelling of the face, arms, hands, lower legs, or feet
  3. blood in the urine
  4. blurred vision
  5. chest pain
  6. chills
  7. cough with mucus
  8. difficulty with breathing
  9. dizziness
  10. fever
  11. loss of bladder or bowel control
  12. nervousness
  13. painful or difficult urination
  14. pounding in the ears
  15. slow or fast heartbeat
  16. sore throat
  17. tingling of the hands or feet
  18. unable to move the legs
  19. unusual weight gain or loss

Less common

  1. Anxiety
  2. confusion or excitement
  3. depression
  4. fainting
  5. falling
  6. lightheadedness
  7. loss of memory
  8. memory or attention span problems
  9. nightmares or vivid dreams
  10. rapid, shallow breathing

Rare

  1. Seizures

Incidence not known

  1. Headache
  2. hives, itching, skin rash
  3. hoarseness
  4. irritation
  5. joint pain, stiffness, or swelling
  6. redness of the skin
  7. swelling of the eyelids, face, lips, hands, or feet
  8. tightness in the chest
  9. trouble breathing or swallowing
  10. unusual drowsiness, tiredness, weakness, or feeling of sluggishness

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Body aches or pain
  2. bone pain
  3. burning, crawling, itching, numbness, prickling, "pins and needles", or tingling feelings
  4. diarrhea
  5. difficulty having a bowel movement
  6. difficulty with moving
  7. dry throat
  8. ear congestion
  9. feeling of constant movement of self or surroundings
  10. feeling of warmth
  11. lack or loss of strength
  12. loss of voice
  13. muscle pain, stiffness, or weakness
  14. pain or tenderness around the eyes and cheekbones
  15. sensation of spinning
  16. stuffy or runny nose
  17. tender, swollen glands in the neck
  18. trouble sleeping

Less common

  1. Bloody nose
  2. dry skin
  3. frequent urination
  4. pale-colored urine
