Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Less common

  1. Gaseous stomach pain
  2. indigestion
  3. severe nausea or vomiting
  4. stomach pain or fullness
  5. yellow eyes or skin

Incidence not known

  1. Agitation
  2. change in urination
  3. chest tightness
  4. chills
  5. clay-colored stools
  6. cold sweats
  7. confusion
  8. cool, pale skin
  9. cough
  10. decreased urine output
  11. depression
  12. diarrhea
  13. difficulty with breathing or swallowing
  14. dizziness
  15. dry mouth
  16. fainting
  17. fast heartbeat
  18. fever
  19. headache
  20. hives, itching, skin rash
  21. hoarseness
  22. hostility
  23. increased hunger
  24. irritability
  25. large, hive-like swelling on the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, sex organs
  26. lethargy
  27. lightheadedness
  28. loss of appetite
  29. lump in the neck
  30. muscle twitching
  31. pains in the stomach, side, or abdomen, possibly radiating to the back
  32. rapid weight gain
  33. reddening of the skin, especially around the ears
  34. seizures
  35. severe constipation
  36. shakiness
  37. slurred speech
  38. sunken eyes
  39. swelling of the eyes or inside of the nose
  40. swelling of the face, ankles, or hands
  41. trouble breathing
  42. unpleasant breath odor
  43. unusual tiredness or weakness
  44. vomiting of blood
  45. wrinkled skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

Less common

  1. Acid or sour stomach
  2. belching
  3. bleeding, blistering, burning, coldness, discoloration of the skin, feeling of pressure, hives, infection, inflammation, itching, lumps, numbness, pain, rash, redness, scarring, soreness, stinging, swelling, tenderness, tingling, ulceration, or warmth at the injection site
  4. decreased appetite
  5. general feeling of discomfort or illness
  6. heartburn
  7. lack or loss of strength
  8. stomach discomfort, upset, or pain

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
