Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Rare

  1. Agitation
  2. delusions
  3. seeing, hearing, or feeling things that are not there

Incidence not known

  1. Blurred vision
  2. chest discomfort or pain
  3. constipation
  4. diarrhea
  5. difficulty breathing
  6. dizziness
  7. faintness
  8. false or unusual sense of well-being
  9. fast, pounding, or irregular heartbeat or pulse
  10. headache
  11. nausea
  12. pounding in the ears
  13. shakiness in the legs, arms, hands, or feet
  14. stomach pain
  15. swelling of the feet or lower legs
  16. trembling or shaking of the hands or feet
  17. twitching, twisting, or uncontrolled repetitive movements of the tongue, lips, face, arms, or legs
  18. unable to sleep
  19. uncontrolled vocal outbursts and/or tics (uncontrolled repeated body movements)
  20. unusual tiredness or weakness
  21. vomiting

Get emergency help immediately if any of the following symptoms of overdose occur:

Symptoms of overdose

  1. Aggressive
  2. agitation
  3. angry
  4. blurred vision
  5. change in consciousness
  6. chest pain or discomfort
  7. confusion
  8. dark urine
  9. diarrhea
  10. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
  11. fainting
  12. fast breathing
  13. fast, slow, or irregular heartbeat
  14. fever
  15. headache
  16. inability to speak
  17. loss of consciousness
  18. muscle cramps, spasms, pain, or stiffness
  19. nausea
  20. nervousness
  21. overactive reflexes
  22. pain or discomfort in the arms, jaw, back, or neck
  23. pale, clammy skin
  24. palpitations
  25. pounding in the ears
  26. restlessness
  27. seeing, hearing, or feeling things that are not there
  28. seizures
  29. shivering
  30. slow or fast heartbeat
  31. slurred speech
  32. stomach cramps
  33. sweating
  34. talking or acting with excitement you cannot control
  35. temporary blindness
  36. thirst
  37. tremor
  38. trouble breathing
  39. unusual tiredness or weakness
  40. vomiting
  41. weakness in the arm or leg on one side of the body, sudden and severe

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

  1. Bad, unusual, or unpleasant (after) taste
  2. change in taste
  3. decreased interest in sexual intercourse
  4. dry mouth
  5. hives or welts, itching, or skin rash
  6. inability to have or keep an erection
  7. indigestion
  8. loss in sexual ability, desire, drive, or performance
  9. passing of gas
  10. redness of the skin
  11. weight loss
