Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Bladder pain
  2. bloody or cloudy urine
  3. difficult, burning, or painful urination
  4. frequent urge to urinate
  5. lower back or side pain

Less common

  1. Agitation
  2. anxiety
  3. back pain
  4. blurred vision
  5. chills
  6. cold sweats
  7. confusion
  8. cool, pale skin
  9. decreased awareness or responsiveness
  10. decreased urine output
  11. depression
  12. difficulty in moving
  13. dizziness
  14. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
  15. fast heartbeat
  16. fever
  17. groin pain
  18. headache
  19. hostility
  20. increased hunger
  21. increased urination
  22. irritability
  23. itching of the vagina or outside the genitals
  24. joint pain
  25. loss of consciousness
  26. muscle aches, pains, stiffness, or twitching
  27. nausea
  28. nervousness
  29. nightmares
  30. pain during sexual intercourse
  31. rapid weight gain
  32. seizures
  33. severe sleepiness
  34. shakiness
  35. slurred speech
  36. stomach pain
  37. sweating
  38. swelling of the face, ankles, or hands
  39. swollen, tender prostate
  40. thick, white curd-like vaginal discharge without odor or with mild odor
  41. unusual drowsiness, dullness, tiredness, weakness, or feeling of sluggishness

Rare

  1. Dry mouth
  2. rapid breathing
  3. sunken eyes
  4. thirst
  5. wrinkled skin

Incidence not known

  1. Bloating
  2. chills
  3. constipation
  4. cough
  5. dark urine
  6. diarrhea
  7. difficulty swallowing
  8. flushed, dry skin
  9. fruit-like breath odor
  10. general feeling of discomfort or illness
  11. hives, itching, skin rash
  12. indigestion
  13. large, hard skin blisters
  14. large, hive-like swelling on the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or genitals
  15. loss of appetite
  16. pain, tenderness, redness, or swelling of the area between the anus and genitals
  17. pains in the stomach, side, or abdomen, possibly radiating to the back
  18. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  19. right upper quadrant tenderness
  20. runny nose
  21. severe joint pain
  22. shivering
  23. sore throat
  24. tightness in the chest
  25. trouble sleeping
  26. troubled breathing
  27. unexplained weight loss
  28. vomiting
  29. weight loss
  30. yellow eyes or skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Body aches or pain
  2. ear congestion
  3. loss of voice
  4. sneezing
  5. stuffy nose
