Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Incidence not known

  1. Blood in the urine
  2. bluish lips or skin
  3. burning, crawling, itching, numbness, prickling, "pins and needles", or tingling feelings
  4. change in the frequency or amount of urine
  5. chest tightness
  6. cough
  7. decrease in amount of urine
  8. difficulty with breathing or swallowing
  9. dizziness
  10. drowsiness
  11. fast heartbeat
  12. fever
  13. hives, itching, skin rash
  14. increased thirst
  15. loss of appetite
  16. nausea or vomiting
  17. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  18. seizures
  19. severe abdominal or stomach cramps and pain
  20. slurred speech
  21. stomach tenderness
  22. swelling of the feet or lower legs
  23. tingling of the arms, legs, and tongue
  24. trouble breathing
  25. unusual tiredness or weakness
  26. watery and severe diarrhea, which may also be bloody

Get emergency help immediately if any of the following symptoms of overdose occur:

Symptoms of overdose

  1. Bluish lips or skin
  2. burning, crawling, itching, numbness, prickling, "pins and needles", or tingling feelings
  3. confusion
  4. dizziness
  5. mood or mental changes
  6. not breathing
  7. shakiness and unsteady walk
  8. uncontrolled eye movements
  9. unsteadiness, trembling, or other problems with muscle control or coordination
  10. unusual drowsiness, dullness, tiredness, weakness, or feeling of sluggishness

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

  1. Feeling of constant movement of self or surroundings
  2. redness of the skin
  3. sensation of spinning
  4. swelling, tenderness, or pain at the injection site

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
