Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Less common

  1. Sore mouth or tongue
  2. white patches in the mouth or on the tongue

Incidence not known

  1. Anxiety
  2. blindness
  3. blistering, burning, crusting, dryness, or flaking of the skin
  4. blurred vision
  5. body aches or pain
  6. change in vision
  7. chest pain, discomfort, or tightness
  8. chills
  9. confusion
  10. cough
  11. darkening of the skin
  12. decreased urine
  13. decreased vision
  14. diarrhea
  15. difficulty swallowing
  16. dizziness
  17. drowsiness
  18. dry mouth
  19. dryness or soreness of the throat
  20. earache
  21. extra heartbeats
  22. eye pain
  23. fainting
  24. fast, pounding, or irregular heartbeat or pulse
  25. fever
  26. flushing
  27. fracture
  28. general feeling of discomfort or illness
  29. headache
  30. headache, severe and throbbing
  31. hives, itching, skin rash
  32. increased thirst
  33. irritability
  34. itching, scaling, severe redness, soreness, or swelling of the skin
  35. joint pain
  36. large, hive-like swelling on the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or sex organs
  37. loss of appetite
  38. loss of vision
  39. mood changes
  40. muscle aches, pains, or cramps
  41. nausea
  42. nervousness
  43. noisy breathing
  44. numbness or tingling in the hands, feet, or lips
  45. pain or discomfort in the arms, jaw, back, or neck
  46. pain or tenderness around the eyes and cheekbones
  47. pounding in the ears
  48. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, or lips
  49. redness or swelling in the ear
  50. restlessness
  51. seizures
  52. shakiness in the legs, arms, hands, or feet
  53. shivering
  54. sneezing
  55. sore throat
  56. stomach pain or cramps
  57. stuffy or runny nose
  58. sweating
  59. tearing
  60. tender, swollen glands in the neck
  61. throat tightness
  62. trembling or shaking of the hands or feet
  63. trouble breathing
  64. trouble in swallowing
  65. trouble sitting still
  66. trouble sleeping
  67. unusual tiredness or weakness
  68. voice changes
  69. vomiting

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

Incidence not known

  1. Acid or sour stomach
  2. belching
  3. bone pain
  4. bruising
  5. change in taste bad unusual or unpleasant (after) taste
  6. difficulty in moving
  7. excessive muscle tone
  8. heartburn
  9. indigestion
  10. joint pain
  11. large, flat, blue, or purplish patches in the skin
  12. muscle stiffness, tension, or tightness
  13. stomach discomfort or upset
  14. swollen joints
  15. weight gain

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
