Research

Pediatric urology involves caring for children who have genital or urinary conditions. A special emphasis is placed on developmental issues affecting the kidneys, bladder, urethra or genital tract.

Mayo Clinic pediatric urology researchers conduct clinical and basic science research that investigates problems with the genitals and urinary tract, also called the genitourinary tract, of children. Often problems are present at birth. These are called congenital conditions.
