Biographical summary
Evan "Mackenzie" Gibbs, M.D., is a fellowship-trained reconstructive urologist at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, specializing in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of complex urinary tract and pelvic floor disorders in both women and men. Her clinical practice focuses on urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, ureteral reconstruction, and other conditions affecting bladder function and quality of life.
Dr. Gibbs has expertise in treating stress and urge incontinence, overactive bladder, neurogenic bladder dysfunction, interstitial cystitis, voiding dysfunction, pelvic floor disorders, pelvic organ prolapse and complications following prior pelvic surgery. She also specializes in female urethral stricture disease, urethral diverticulum, urethral caruncle, vaginal fistula, and mesh-related complications, developing individualized treatment plans using advanced reconstructive and minimally invasive surgical techniques.
Her reconstructive practice also includes the management of ureteral disorders, including ureteral stricture, ureteral obstruction, hydronephrosis and urinary tract injuries.
"My goal is to help patients develop a treatment plan that restores function and improves quality of life," says Dr. Gibbs. "Even complex urinary and pelvic floor conditions often have highly effective treatment options."
Dr. Gibbs earned her medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine and completed her urology residency at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville. She then completed a fellowship in genitourinary reconstructive surgery at Baylor Scott & White Health through the Society of Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgeons, where she received advanced training in male and female urologic reconstruction.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Gibbs enjoys spending time with her husband and son, hiking, traveling, and exploring the outdoors.
