Research

Mayo Clinic researchers are working on ways to better diagnose and treat achalasia. Specific efforts include studies comparing the long-term effectiveness of various treatment options.

The Mayo Clinic Enteric Neuroscience Program conducts laboratory and clinical research on motility and functional gastrointestinal disorders, including disturbances to nerve function in the gastrointestinal tract.
