1. A Study to Evaluate Soft Tissue Aneurysmal Bone Cyst of the Cervical Paraspinal Muscles

   Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of this study is to analysis is to report the presentation, workup, treatment, histopathologic analysis, and clinical course of soft tissue aneurysmal bone cyst of the cervical paraspinal muscles.

2. Vocal Disorders Co-existing in Patients with Spasmotic Dsyphonia (SD)

   Jacksonville, Fla.

   The purpose of this study is to investigate if SD patients have vocal disorders (nodules, polyps, muscle tension dysphonia etc) more than in normal population.

3. Acupuncture Therapy for COVID-Related Olfactory Loss

   Rochester, Minn.

   The objectives of this study are to describe the incidence of COVID-related olfactory loss, to compare the effectiveness of acupuncture, steroid rinses, and olfactory training versus steroid rinses and olfactory training in the treatment of COVID-related olfactory loss, and to recommend a treatment paradigm for patients with COVID-related olfactory loss.

    

4. A Study of the Biological System of Allergic Fungal Sinusitis Mucin

   Jacksonville, Fla.

   The purpose of this study is to describe the proteome of mucus in patients without chronic rhinosinusitis (nCRS) with an emphasis on cytokines and bone morphogenic proteins present (BMPs), to describe the proteome of mucus in patients with chronic rhinosinusitis without polyps (CRSsNP) with an emphasis on cytokines and BMPs present, to describe the proteome of mucus in patients with allergic fungal sinusitis (AFRS) with an emphasis on cytokines and BMPs present, and to identify BMPs differentially elevated in patients with AFRS compared to patients with nCRS or CRS.

5. Detection of Circulating Biomarkers (Circulating Tumor Cells and Circulating Tumor DNA) in Patients with Head and Neck Carcinoma following Surgical Intervention

   Scottsdale/Phoenix, Ariz.

   The goal of this research study is to evaluate the impact of surgical interventions on circulating biomarker dynamics and establish their prognostic role in carcinoma of the head and neck treated with intended curative surgery.

6. A Study to Evaluate Remote Objective Monitoring

   Rochester, Minn.

   Hypothesis: Cochlear implant and Auditory Brainstem Implant outcomes continue to improve secondary to improved device design, surgical approach, and advanced programming.

7. A Study to Develop a Biorepository of Blood Samples from Cancer Patients Participating in the Gemini (IRB 19-006717) Protocol

   Scottsdale/Phoenix, Ariz., Jacksonville, Fla.

   The purpose of this study is to develop a biorepository of blood samples  from cancer patients participating in the Gemini (IRB 19-006717) protocol. These samples will be used for future biomarker discovery and other translational studies. 

8. Study of Auditory Function through Intra- and Post-operative Measurements

   Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of this study is to determine if electrocochleography (ECochG) measurements performed during cochlear implant surgery can be used to monitor cochlear structures and minimize electrode insertion trauma.

9. A Study to Evaluate the Effect of Medical Intervention on Sinonasal Inflammation in Patients with Chronic Sinusitis, Nasal Polyps and Positive Sinus Culture

   Jacksonville, Fla., Scottsdale/Phoenix, Ariz.

   The purpose of this study is to compare change in SNOT-22 score in patients who received medication therapy such as oral antibiotics, topical antibiotics, oral corticosteroids, topical corticosteroids, leukotriene receptor antagonist, and interleukin 5 receptor antagonist following endoscopic sinus surgery versus control in patient with chronic sinusitis with nasal polyps and a positive culture.

10. Study of Treating Patients with Vestibular Schwannoma with Aspirin

    Rochester, Minn.

    The purpose of this study is to evaluate whether the administration of aspirin can delay or slow tumor growth and maintain or improve hearing in  patients with vestibular schwannoma (VS).
