1. A Study to Evaluate Prevalence of Hypogonadism in Patients with Chronic Pain

   Jacksonville, Fla.

   The purpose of this study is to evaluate the hormonal profile related to opioid-induced hypogonadism (OIH) in chronic pain patients before and after completing 3 weeks Interdisciplinary Pain Rehabilitation Program (IPRP) at Pain Rehabilitation Center (PRC) at Mayo Clinic/Florida.

2. Tobacco Dependence Intervention Knowledge, Practices, and Attitudes among Registered Nurses

   Rochester, Minn.

   The specific aim of this study is to determine if the implementation of a tobacco dependence intervention, among registered nurses on Gonda 7 caring for ambulatory surgical patients, results in a change in the knowledge, practices, and attitudes of patient tobacco use assessment as compared to baseline. 

3. A Study to Evaluate Time to First Movement for Fetal Surgery Patients Injected with Intramuscular Anesthesia

   The purpose of this study is to determine the time from intramuscular injection to the time of first fetal movement after a fetal surgery procedure.

4. Text Messaging Smoking Cessation Program in Surgical Patients

   Rochester, Minn.

   The goal of this study is to evaluate using a text messaging smoking cessation service in surgical patients during the perioperative period (before scheduled surgery and for 4 weeks post-operatively).

5. A Study to Assess Opioid-Induced Respiratory Depression Using Diaphragm Muscle Shear Wave Elastography

   Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of this study is to determine the impact of opioid administration on diaphragm muscle forces during resting breathing and during higher force maneuvers by using a non-invasive shear wave elastography (SWE) method.

6. Response of Continuous Recombinant Antithrombin Infusion in Postcardiotomy ECMO Patients

   Rochester, Minn.

   The objective of this study will be to prospectively evaluate the response of a continuous infusion of recombinant human antithrombin concentrate (rhAT) (ATRYN®) to achieve and maintain the AT activity within a specified range in adult patients that require extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) following cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) and cardiac surgery.

7. A Study of Serum Baclofen Levels in Patients with Intrathecal Baclofen Therapy

   The purpose of this study is to determine serum levels of baclofen in patients with spasticity managed with long-term intrathecal baclofen therapy. 

8. A Study to Evaluate Neurostimulation to Treat Chronic Upper Limb Pain After Brachial Plexus Injury

   Rochester, Minn., Jacksonville, Fla.

   This study is designed to assess the degree to which high-frequency spinal cord stimulation may help with pain after brachial plexus avulsion injury.

9. Analysis of Spinal Cord Stimulation Usage Over a 15-Year Period

   Scottsdale/Phoenix, Ariz., Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of this study is to determine the rate at which patients who underwent Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS) trial ultimately progressed to SCS implantation, determine the percentage of patients who continued using their SCS system after 5 years, as well as identify patient characteristics that lead to SCS discontinuation.

10. A Study to Assess Virtual Reality As Anesthesia Adjunct During Electrophysiology Lab Procedures
