I'm Ian Parney. I'm a neurosurgeon here at Mayo Clinic. I think you could describe me as a brain tumor neurosurgeon. That means that I'm a neurosurgeon, somebody who does procedures for tumors in the brain. My priority always is to get the best care for my patients. And in particular in brain tumors that's been my focus certainly for the last 15 years at least. So I've been doing it for a little while.

You know I have in my mind the best job in the world. My practice is just focused on brain tumors, and that's all that I do. As a neurosurgeon, I'm one of the first people that someone will see when they come with a brain tumor. And the final major reward from that is to be able to go and see that patient's family, see the patient in the recovery room, and say, it went really well and we were able to do something that was really helpful to you. That's an incredibly rewarding experience that I'm privileged to be able to participate in.
