Biographical summary
Ben George, M.D., is a GI medical oncologist at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota who specializes in the treatment of patients with pancreatic and gastroesophageal cancers. He works collaboratively with a large, multidisciplinary team of cancer specialists to deliver state-of-the-art cancer care.
Dr. George attended medical school at Medical College Thiruvananthapuram in India. He completed his internship and residency training in Internal Medicine at the Medical College of Ohio, Toledo, Ohio and Gunderson Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, Wisconsin, respectively. Subsequently, he completed a fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at the Medical College of Wisconsin and an advanced fellowship in
Gastrointestinal Medical Oncology at the M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. He is board certified in Medical Oncology.
Dr. George’s clinical practice focuses on the treatment of patients with pancreatic and gastroesophageal cancer, with a special emphasis on leveraging precision medicine strategies to deliver personalized
treatment. He is also actively involved in scientific research — conducting and designing clinical trials — aimed at developing novel therapies for patients with gastrointestinal cancers. He has authored/co-authored numerous peer-reviewed manuscripts, meeting abstracts/presentations, and book chapters.
