Biographical summary
Ramla Namisango Kasozi, M.B.Ch.B., M.P.H., FAAFP, is a board-certified family medicine physician and public health specialist. She serves as a Consultant in the Department of Family Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, and as an Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science. Dr. Kasozi provides comprehensive care for patients of all ages, focusing on preventive medicine and management of chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, COPD, and asthma. Her clinical approach blends compassion with evidence-based practices to support long-term health and wellness.
"I approach every patient as I would a family member — listening carefully, seeking to understand their goals and concerns, and treating them with compassion and respect. At the same time, I ground my clinical decision-making in the best available evidence and current guidelines," says Dr. Kasozi.

Academic and research leadership
In addition to caring for patients, Dr. Kasozi has intentionally cultivated a career as a clinician-investigator. Her research focuses on health disparities, women's health in sports, and postpartum recovery in female athletes — areas that inform clinical practice and advance health equity. She has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications, secured internal and external research funding, and regularly contributes to national and international forums. In 2025, Dr. Kasozi served as an invited speaker at the World Medical Football Championship in Dublin, Ireland.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Kasozi enjoys all things soccer, both playing and watching, along with traveling and spending time with her family.
Dr. Kasozi is currently accepting new patients at our Cannaday Primary Care location.
