Biographical summary
Patricia J M Best, M.D., is an associate professor of internal medicine and cardiovascular diseases at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science. She is an interventional cardiologist, an active member of the Women's Heart Clinic and a researcher at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. She is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a fellow of the Society for Cardiac Angiography and Intervention.
Dr. Best received her medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania in 1993 and pursued fellowships in internal medicine, cardiovascular research, cardiovascular diseases and interventional cardiology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, joining the Mayo staff in 2003.
Her research interests include interventional cardiology, acute myocardial infarction, and high-risk and understudied populations, including women and patients with renal disease. Dr. Best has served on a national American Heart Association Vascular Wall Biology Study Section and as the chair of the national American Heart Association Vascular Wall Biology Angiogenesis, Atherosclerosis, General, Inflammation Clinical/Translational (AAGI CT) Committee Study Section.
