Classes for consumers, businesses and industry

Mayo Clinic Ambulance Service works hard to help keep communities safer. One approach is through education, with reasonably priced classes that teach ways to prevent medical emergencies and what to do when medical emergencies occur.

Classes are available in many of the cities we serve. For more information, please contact our education department by email at goldcrosseducation@mayo.edu or call 218-628-3950.

Class offerings include:

  • Heartsaver Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR): This class is for non-health care professionals who desire to learn CPR and procedures to treat people who are choking.
  • Health Care Providers CPR: Developed for medical professionals, this class covers CPR and choking procedures for infants, children and adults; two-rescuer CPR; and mouth-to-mask ventilation.
  • First Aid for Business and Industry: This is an American Heart Association-approved program that covers what to do until professional help arrives when a co-worker is injured or suddenly becomes ill. This class can be customized to specific businesses and industries. General topics include patient assessment, medical-legal issues, the ABCs of emergency care, bleeding control, environmental emergencies, poisoning and burns, and CPR.
