研究

With state-of-the-art lab space and leading physician-researchers in the Department of Oncology, the Department of Urology and throughout Mayo Clinic, we are committed to improving options for patients with urologic cancers such as prostate cancer. We partner with our patients to achieve optimal care for these cancers. We conduct research to better understand cancer biology and to find ways to better target cancer cells with both surgical and nonsurgical approaches. Mayo Clinic also offers ongoing clinical trials that explore methods to reduce hormone therapy use and overcome hormone therapy side effects for some people with prostate cancer.

Prostate cancer research is conducted in coordination with Mayo Clinic Comprehensive Cancer Center. Mayo Clinic Comprehensive Cancer Center receives funding from the National Cancer Institute and is designated as a comprehensive cancer center. This designation recognizes the institution's scientific excellence and multidisciplinary resources focused on cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment.
