Biographical summary
Ruti Sella, M.D., is the clinical practice chair of the ophthalmology department. She is fellowship trained in cornea and refractive surgery. Her clinical interests include:
- Expertise in routine and complex cataract surgeries.
- Correction of refractive errors and astigmatism.
- Complex anterior segment procedures, and intraocular lens replacements.
- Multidisciplinary collaborations to ensure the highest quality of care for challenging anterior segment reconstruction surgeries.
Dr. Sella's research is centered on:
- Intraocular lens calculations.
- Enhancing refractive results in cataract and refractive surgeries.
- The epidemiology of cataract, efficiency and safety in cataract surgery.
- The role of artificial intelligence in planning cataract surgeries, corneal imaging and astigmatism correction.
She engages in both clinical and pre-clinical research, and contributes as an author and editor in scientific publications to advance the field of cataract and refractive surgery.
