Ruti Sella Svetlit, M.D.

Ruti Sella, M.D., is the clinical practice chair of the ophthalmology department. She is fellowship trained in cornea and refractive surgery. Her clinical interests include:

• Expertise in routine and complex cataract surgeries.
• Correction of refractive errors and astigmatism.
• Complex anterior segment procedures, and intraocular lens replacements.
• Multidisciplinary collaborations to ensure the highest quality of care for challenging anterior segment reconstruction surgeries.

Dr. Sella's research is centered on:

• Intraocular lens calculations.
• Enhancing refractive results in cataract and refractive surgeries.
• The epidemiology of cataract, efficiency and safety in cataract surgery.
• The role of artificial intelligence in planning cataract surgeries, corneal imaging and astigmatism correction.

She engages in both clinical and pre-clinical research, and contributes as an author and editor in scientific publications to advance the field of cataract and refractive surgery.
