Mayo Clinic offers the following tours for patients and their guests:

Guided tour of Mayo Clinic for patients

Mayo Clinic offers a free guided tour for patients and their guests while they are at Mayo. The tour includes a 15-minute film about Mayo Clinic, followed by a one-hour walking tour of the downtown campus. The tour is offered at 10 a.m., Monday through Friday. Children must be accompanied by an adult. The tour begins in Judd Auditorium, in the subway level of the Mayo Building. Call 507-284-2225 for additional information.

Please note: Tours are restricted to patients and their guests (individuals accompanying patients to and from appointments) while they are on campus for medical appointments. To respect the privacy of our patients, tours are not open to the general public.

Guided art tour

Mayo Clinic has an extensive collection of art, which includes donated and commissioned works made possible by Mayo benefactors. An art and architecture tour is offered to patients and their guests Monday through Friday at 1:30 p.m. Tours begin in Judd Auditorium, Mayo Building, subway level. Self-guided art audio tour

A self-guided audio art tour is available to help patients and their guests enjoy the many examples of fine artwork displayed at the downtown campus. Audio hand-held devices and maps are available at the Information Desk in the Gonda Building, lobby level, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Call 507-266-2066 for more information.

Self-guided tour of Mayo historical suite

Tour the suite that includes the last offices of Drs. William J. and Charles H. Mayo. The suite, on the third floor of the Plummer Building, is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. See more information on Mayo Clinic history.

Self-guided tour of Heritage Hall

Heritage Hall, in the Mathews Grand Lobby of the Mayo Building, presents multimedia displays that link Mayo Clinic history with current activities and plans for the future. The museum has a small theater showing historical and contemporary films about Mayo Clinic throughout the day. Heritage Hall is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Self-guided tour of the Research Information Center

View multimedia displays highlighting Mayo research at the Mayo Clinic Research Information Center, in the lobby of the Gonda Building. The center is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Self-guided tour of Mayo Clinic Hospital, Saint Marys Campus

You can take a self-guided tour of Mayo Clinic Hospital, Saint Marys Campus, between 8 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. Tour brochures are available at the information desks at the hospital.

High school career and college career tour requests

Traditional high school tour requests are now included in a more formal, career awareness program known as the High School Career Awareness/Educational Visit. This program provides career awareness experiences that match student interests.

  • Available through the academic school year during regular weekday business hours.
  • Minimum 6 weeks' notice required.
  • Scheduled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Individual visits are not available.
  • Limited only by available Mayo Clinic department resources.
