Mayo Clinic Children's: New name, same unmatched care for kids

May 31, 2025

Families and referring physicians seeking pediatric specialty care and collaboration with specialists in rare and complex conditions can continue to rely on Mayo Clinic Children's, previously Mayo Clinic Children's Center.

The new name marks more than a refreshed identity. It reflects Mayo's continued commitment to patients, their families and referring physicians from around the world. The name change is in conjunction with a recent strategic initiative that combined Mayo Clinic Children's with the Department of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine under an integrated leadership structure.

"Our team at Mayo Clinic Children's is incredibly proud of the work that has taken place to evolve pediatrics at Mayo Clinic and to ensure a strong foundation for the future," says Amie E. Jones, M.D., interim chair for Mayo Clinic Children's. "What hasn't changed is our mission — to bring hope and healing to children facing serious or complex conditions, with expert teams that deliver holistic, compassionate care to every patient and family, every day."

A cross-functional team is collaborating to ensure a smooth transition. The new name will be updated in communications, signage, websites and social media channels in the coming months.
