Research

Mayo Clinic doctors and scientists are leaders in prostate cancer research. Areas of focus include discovering new treatment options and strategies for metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). Researchers are translating these new discoveries in order to bring them to people in the clinic sooner. Researchers also are studying new diagnostic tests and ways to enhance the quality of life for those living with advanced prostate cancer.

Prostate cancer research is conducted in coordination with Mayo Clinic Comprehensive Cancer Center. Mayo Clinic Comprehensive Cancer Center receives funding from the National Cancer Institute and is designated as a comprehensive cancer center. This designation recognizes the institution's scientific excellence and multidisciplinary resources focused on cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment. Mayo Clinic Comprehensive Cancer Center is the only National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center with three locations in Arizona, Florida and Minnesota.
