Mayo Clinic researchers are committed to improving diagnosis and treatment of cirrhosis of the liver. Mayo researchers were among the first to identify nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and primary sclerosing cholangitis. Mayo researchers also are making significant contributions to understanding the causes of liver cirrhosis and developing new treatments.
