Dr. Pyongsoo Yoon is a cardiothoracic surgeon and is certified in cardiac and thoracic surgery by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. He is co-clinical director of the UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute. His clinical practice includes all aspects of adult cardiac surgery, and he is actively involved in quality improvement initiatives. Dr. Yoon earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia, completed his residency at Eastern Virginia Graduate School of Medicine, and completed clinical and research fellowships in cardiothoracic surgery at Allegheny General Hospital. He previously served as director of cardiac surgery at UPMC Passavant and director of cardiothoracic surgery at institutions in Ohio, Tennessee, and Virginia.
