I'm a transplant cardiologist at Mayo Clinic. Each patient has their own journey. Each patient is affected in different ways. There are patients that could have multiple organs affected. This condition can affect their well-being, their mental health, their whole socialist structure could be impacted. The Mayo Clinic multidisciplinary level of care provides a comprehensive evaluation that not only goes into the medical condition, we also make efforts to understand what is the impact on their daily life of these patients. Patients are seen by multiple specialties, multiple evaluations. And the goal is to provide that care, that structure that would allow the patient to go back to what they enjoy doing. Our goal is to not only treat the disease, but help these patients, each one individually, to go back to the things they like to do.
