Biographical summary
Paul E. Hanna, M.D., MSc, FASN, is a board-certified nephrologist and Senior Associate Consultant in the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension at Mayo Clinic in Florida.
Dr. Hanna attended medical school at the Medical College of Wisconsin and completed his internal medicine residency there. He then trained at Harvard Medical School, completing a fellowship in clinical and research nephrology at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women's Hospital, followed by a fellowship in onconephrology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. He also completed additional training in glomerular diseases through GlomCon, where he now serves as faculty.
Dr. Hanna's clinical practice focuses on kidney disease in patients with cancer, including drug-induced kidney injury, and on glomerular disease. His research examines the nephrotoxicity of cancer therapies, kidney function estimation in patients with cancer and extrarenal manifestations of glomerulonephritides. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in journals including Kidney International, JAMA Network Open, Journal of the National Cancer Institute, and Nephrology Dialysis Transplantation.
