Biographical summary
Travis C. Geraci, M.D., is an Assistant Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona. He is a heart and lung transplant surgeon with additional clinical expertise in robotic thoracic surgery. He is board certified in both cardiothoracic surgery and general surgery.
Dr. Geraci cares for patients with advanced heart and lung disease, including those requiring lung, heart, and multi-organ transplantation. He has surgical experience with robotic lung transplantation and minimally invasive approaches to cardiothoracic surgery. He has clinical and research experience in the perioperative care of transplant patients, including the use of advanced organ preservation and support strategies. In addition to transplantation, he has an expertise in robotic thoracic surgery, with experience in robotic lung and mediastinal resections, emphasizing surgical precision, enhanced recovery, and patient experience. His scholarly work reflects this dual focus on transplantation and robotic thoracic surgery. He earned his medical degree from Oregon Health & Science University and completed his general surgery residency at Alpert Medical School of Brown University, followed by a fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at NYU Langone Health in New York City. Prior to joining Mayo Clinic Arizona, he served as an Assistant Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery at NYU Langone Health, where he was actively involved in clinical care, education, and research.
Originally from the Pacific Northwest, Dr. Geraci recently relocated to Arizona from New York City with his family, including his two young sons. Outside of medicine, he and his family enjoy the outdoors and exploring new places. Personally, Dr. Geraci appreciates creativity and humor, values that influence his approach to both life and patient care.
