Biographical summary
Dr. Fillmore is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon with broad clinical experience and interests. His most common areas of clinical focus include:
- Expertise in surgical management of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders
- Orthognathic surgery (corrective jaw surgery)
- Combined TMJ and orthognathic surgery
- Facial trauma surgery
- Benign cyst and tumors of the jaws and face
Dr. Fillmore enjoys taking the needed time to understand and evaluate his patients and their challenges. He takes pride in navigating complex cases and in providing clear, honest, and
evidence-based diagnoses and treatment plans. In many instances, this involves collaboration with other specialists, both within and outside of Mayo Clinic.
Beyond this, Dr. Fillmore actively contributes to scientific research and education in areas of his clinical interest. He enjoys mentoring surgical residents who will participate in
the care of his patients. In addition, he holds positions of leadership in many organizations germane to his surgical and educational expertise.
