Biographical summary
Mark K. Edwin, M.D., is board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Palliative Medicine. He is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine. Dr. Edwin serves as the chair of the
Division of Palliative Medicine.
Dr. Edwin attended medical school at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. He obtained his internal medicine training at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, followed by a year serving as the chief resident in internal medicine at Mayo Clinic in Arizona. Early in his career, Dr. Edwin worked in the divisions of Community Internal Medicine and Hospital Medicine, before transitioning his focus to Palliative Medicine in 2007.
Dr. Edwin's clinical practice focuses on patients with serious and complex illnesses including cancer, heart failure, advanced lung disease and ALS. His work focuses on symptom relief and enhancing quality of life for patients with a variety of serious illnesses. His work also has a strong focus on pain management for oncology patients.
