Dr. Leslie J. Donato is a board certified Clinical Chemist and assistant professor in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. She serves the practice as co-director of the Hospital Clinical Laboratory and Point of Care Testing and co-director of the Cardiovascular Laboratory Medicine.

Dr. Donato's research interests include:

  • Cardiovascular risk detection and cardiac biomarkers
  • Gastrointestinal tests for bile acid malabsorption
  • Point of care molecular testing of lipids and infectious diseases

In addition to her activities in laboratory oversight, novel test development, and patient centered research, Dr. Donato is active in the education of resident, fellows and medical laboratory technologists.
