Biographical summary
Caitlin B. Conboy, M.D., Ph.D., is a medical oncologist and physician scientist focused on improving the care of patients with gastrointestinal malignancies. She completed Internal Medicine Residency and
Hematology & Oncology Fellowship at the Mayo Clinic, where she is currently an Assistant Professor of Medical Oncology.
Dr. Conboy runs an active basic and translational research program and is the principal investigator for prospective clinical trials focused on cholangiocarcinoma and other hepatobiliary cancers. In addition to
her clinical and research activities, Dr. Conboy is involved in the education of medical students, residents, and Oncology fellows. Dr. Conboy has received awards from the National Institutes of Health, the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation, the Minnesota Society of Clinical Oncology, and the Mayo Clinic to support her research. She has authored multiple scientific articles in high-impact journals and presented her work at national and international meetings. Her research interests include:
- Mapping genetic and epigenetic drivers of liver and bile duct cancers
- Identifying selective vulnerabilities of cancers with epigenetic dysregulation
- Developing novel therapies from the bench to bedside
