1. Outcome of Capsular Release for Elbow Contracture

   Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of this study is to assess the outcome and complications of capsular release for elbow contractures.

    

2. The Effects of Prophylactic Limited Palmar Fasciectomy on Surgical Outcomes and Scarring

   Rochester, Minn.

   Research is instrumental for improving medical care and the patient experience. Finding new surgical techniques can create better outcomes and minimize recovery time and complications for patients. Some patients undergoing trigger finger surgery with a pre-existing Dupuytren's cord may develop a thickened surgical scar after surgery, which can cause discomfort, difficulty with moving or using, and other complications in the affected finger(s) or hand. The investigator is investigating a surgical technique to minimize these potential complications and scarring after surgery. Subjects are being asked to take part in this research study because they have been diagnosed with trigger finger and pretendinous Dupuytren's cord and have decided to undergo surgery rather than try medical treatment.

3. A Study to Evaluate Anterior Vertebral Body Tethering (AVBT) Zimmer Biomet Tether System or Dynesys System to Treat Pediatric Scoliosis

   Rochester, Minn., Minneapolis, Minn., La Crosse, Wis., Eau Claire, Wis.

   The Researchers want to assess the short-term safety of Anterior Vertebral Body Tethering (AVBT) in skeletally immature subjects with moderate to severe scoliosis.

4. RCT Comparing Robotically-Assisted vs. Manually-Executed Total Knee Arthroplasties

   Rochester, Minn., Scottsdale/Phoenix, Ariz., Jacksonville, Fla.

   This study will explore if there are any difference in functional outcomes between two different surgical procedures for total knee replacement: robot-assisted versus manually-executed total knee arthroplasty.

5. Study to Analyze Patient Preferences in Outcome Measurements of Patients with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

   Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of this study is to elicit patient preference for patient-reported outcome measures in carpal tunnel syndrome.

6. A Study to Evaluate A Patient's Perception of Indwelling Foley Catheters Following Total Hip or Total Knee Arthroplasty

   Jacksonville, Fla.

   The purpose of this study is to evaluate the orthopedic patients’ perspective on the use of indwelling foley catheters.

7. Shoulder Arthroscopy: Functional and Clinical Outcomes

   Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of this study is to evaluate the clinical and functional outcomes of patients undergoing arthroscopic shoulder surgery.

8. A Study of Performance of a New Investigational Prosthesis Design and Explore How Mimicking the Human Ankle May Enhance Maneuverability of Walking

   Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of this study is to see how you walk with an investigational new type of ankle-foot prosthesis that has been developed, which can allow motion in more than one direction.

9. A Study to Analyze Fractures and Bone Disease in Living Kidney Donors

   Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of this study is to to determine whether or not prior living kidney donors have an increased risk of bone fractures. The study will also determine bone structure and health in prior living donors as compared to matched controls.  

    

    

    

    

   We will determine if living kidney donors are at increased risk of bone disease and fractures following kidney donation. This information will be valuable in informing future kidney donors of the risks of donation and in devising treatments, such as administration of vitamin D analogs like calcitriol, to prevent such complications.

10. A Study to Compare 3- and 4-Part Proximal Humerus Fractures Undergoing Elected Nonoperative vs. Operative Management

    Rochester, Minn.

    The purpose of this study is to compare validated clinical and functional outcomes between patients who acutely present with 3- and 4-part Proximal Humerus Fractures (PHFs) treated nonoperatively or with rTSA. We hypothesize that in displaced 3- and 4-part proximal humerus fractures, rTSA will have better pain relief and functional outcomes than nonoperative treatment.
