Radha Korupolu, M.D., M.S., is a Senior Associate Consultant within the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Mayo Clinic in Florida. She is a physiatrist specializing in spinal cord injury medicine, neurorehabilitation and spasticity management.

Dr. Korupolu's clinical practice focuses on treating individuals with upper motor neuron syndromes of spinal origin, including traumatic and nontraumatic spinal cord injuries including multiple sclerosis. She has particular expertise in comprehensive and interventional spasticity management, including botulinum toxin injections, phenol neurolysis and intrathecal baclofen therapy. Her clinical interests also include respiratory complications associated with spinal cord injury and neuromuscular weakness, including ventilator management and weaning.

Dr. Korupolu's research focuses on improving outcomes after spinal cord injury and other neurological injuries through neurorecovery, neuromodulation and evidence-based respiratory care. She investigates vagus nerve stimulation paired with rehabilitation to improve upper-extremity function, strategies to optimize mechanical ventilation and ventilator weaning, and nonpharmacological approaches, including mindfulness-based interventions, for chronic pain after neurological injury. Her work seeks to translate research discoveries into practical interventions that improve function, independence and quality of life.
