Dr. Ashley Egan is a consultant in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. She completed her medical degree at the University of Missouri School of Medicine in Columbia, Missouri, followed by residency training in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Mayo Clinic.

Dr. Egan’s clinical practice focuses on thoracic oncology including the evaluation and management of lung nodules, lung masses, thoracic adenopathy, lung cancer, pleural disease, and cancer treatment-related pulmonary toxicity. She led the development of the Pulmonary Oncologic Toxicity Clinic at Mayo Clinic, a dedicated multidisciplinary initiative evaluating and addressing the complex pulmonary needs of oncology patients.

In partnership with the Mayo Clinic Centers for Digital Health, Dr. Egan has led the development and implementation of a remote patient monitoring initiative aimed at improving early detection and management of immunotherapy-associated pneumonitis in high-risk patients—an area that also represents the core of her research interests. Her ongoing work seeks to advance prevention strategies, optimize early recognition, enhance diagnostic accuracy, and personalize treatment approaches of immunotherapy-associated pneumonitis.

In addition to her pulmonary practice, Dr. Egan serves as an intensivist across multiple intensive care units at Mayo Clinic. She is also the rotation director for the Internal Medicine Residency’s MICU rotation helping to train the next generation of physicians in critical care.
