Biographical summary
Dr. Bashir is a board-certified interventional cardiologist with expertise in peripheral arterial, venous and pulmonary vascular interventions. He is also a Professor of Medicine at Mayo Clinic School of Medicine.
Dr. Bashir attended Government Medical College Srinagar in Kashmir. He completed training in Internal Medicine at the Nassau University Medical Center in Long Island, NY, and subspecialty training in Cardiovascular and Vascular Medicine at St Elizabeth Medical Center in Boston and Interventional Cardiology at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota.
Dr. Bashir's clinical practice focuses on the endovascular interventional treatment of patients with coronary, peripheral arterial, venous and pulmonary vascular diseases. His research interests include outcomes research, and device innovation in the areas of venous thromboembolism which includes acute and chronic pulmonary embolism and Deep vein thrombosis.
