Afsaneh Alavi, M.D is a dermatologist, with a special interest in inflammatory wounds such as hidradenitis suppurativa (HS), pyoderma gangrenosum (PG).

Her clinical focus includes:

  • Management of neutrophilic inflammatory disorders
  • Skin manifestation of gastrointestinal disorders
  • Management of chronic wounds with the concentration on inflammatory wounds

Dr. Alavi has been Principal Investigator on more than 50 clinical trials and multiple translational researches.

In addition to her clinical activities, Dr. Alavi is active in research and education, providing mentorship to residents and fellows.

She has authored multiple book chapters and continues to publish in high-impact scientific dermatology journals.
