Experience

Mayo doctors and scientists are leaders in innovation, including the development of magnetic resonance elastography and other technologies and practice improvements.
Mayo Clinic healthcare professionals treat prostate cancer with focal high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) to improve outcomes while minimizing damage to tissue around the prostate.
Mayo Clinic imaging researchers work with doctors from many specialties to expand the use of HIFU. Doctors and scientists are studying ways to improve HIFU for treating prostate and other cancers, uterine fibroids, low back pain, chronic pain and other conditions.
