Support groups for many conditions are available at Mayo Clinic's campus in Arizona.

Bariatric Surgery Support Group

Bariatric Surgery Support Group meetings are open forums for sharing information. Speakers such as the surgeon, endocrinologist, dietitian, physical therapist or exercise expert are present at meetings throughout the year.

The Bariatric Surgery Support Group meets on the second Tuesday of every month starting in March 2019, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix (Room 1-212, near the hospital entrance).

Meetings are free and open to the public and attendees can come to all or part of the meetings. Family and friends are also welcome.

Desert Voices

A support group for people who have had a laryngectomy meets from noon to 2 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month at Mayo Clinic Hospital on the Phoenix campus. Hearing loss

The Understanding Your Hearing Loss Support Group meets on the first through fourth Tuesdays of each month, depending on class size. The group meets from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. in Room 3-320 at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix. Contact Cheryl L. Hartman at 480-301-5256 to sign up.

Heart-lung transplant

Liver transplant

The liver transplant support group meets on Thursdays from 12 to 1 p.m. in Room 1-115 at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix. Contact Kathleen Minner, L.C.S.W. at 480-342-1010.

LVAD support and education group

A support group for people who have a left ventricular assist device (LVAD) and their family members meets from 11 a.m. to noon on the fourth Monday of each month in Room 4E‐121 at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix. Mayo Clinic Connect

Mayo Clinic Connect is an online community where you can share your experiences and find support from people like you. You can also read Mayo Clinic expert blogs and take part in educational events. Connect is managed by a team of community moderators, who keep the community safe and welcoming. They also support a volunteer group of patient mentors who share their stories, assist in connecting members and build community.

Ostomy Support Group

The Ostomy Support Group meets on the first Tuesday of every month. The group meets from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. in Room 1-212 at the Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix. Contact Candy Boyes, C.W.O.C.N at 480-342-2804 for more information.
