FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
As the name reinforces, this is an “executive” health program. We have designed our program experience to meet the needs of busy executive leaders in the demanding stages of their career.
We serve active executives, business leaders, and others who qualify. Our program managers review business title, company information, work status, and other criteria in inviting applicants to become part of our category-of-one program.
We open our appointment calendars three months in advance—and typically every appointment slot fills. Once you qualify and are invited to make your first appointment, let us know your month of preference. We will email you when that month’s appointment calendar opens to settle on dates that work for you and for us. At the completion of each appointment, we’ll ask whether you’d like us to reach back for the same time the next year.
We view this as a career-long care relationship to protect and optimize your health. Most of our executive patients return annually, carving out time in their month-of-choice. Each appointment can be unique based upon your changing needs, concerns, and interests. Some of our patients return every-other year. This can be a conversation with your Executive Health physician. You must return within at least three years to be considered an active patient in our Executive Health Program.
Each visit is typically two days—sometimes one, sometimes three. We offer the most comprehensive and personalized executive health visit available—weaving unhurried physician time, leading edge diagnostic tests, specialist consults when needed, and executive-level hospitality into an efficient itinerary and experience.
No. While the Mayo Clinic Executive Health Program is a high-level relationship, a world-class experience, and provides year-round support, it is not a membership program, there is no annual membership fee, it is not primary care, and we typically see our executive patients once a year. Feel free to inquire about Mayo Clinic 24/7/365 medical concierge offerings currently available on our Florida and Arizona campuses.
Yes! We see many couples come through the program year-after year.
Yes, the cornerstones of the experience are consistent—career-long relationships, annual visits, comprehensive and personalized appointments, unhurried physician time, our standard protocol of services, and the Mayo Clinic model of care. At the same time, each campus has unique offerings that executive patients can take advantage of as well. Select the Mayo Clinic location that best fits your needs and interests.
Our standard protocol of services serves as the foundation to each Mayo Clinic Executive Health Program appointment. This standard protocol is based on a combination of U.S. Preventive Services Task Force guidelines and Mayo Clinic best practice recommendations for executive patients. We tailor our standard protocol by gender, age, and visit. Our physicians review and update our standard protocol annually. We round out each appointment with additional services the physician will order and with optional services the executive can add. For more detail on our standard protocol please inquire or apply.
Because each appointment is personalized based on gender, age, visit, symptoms, conditions, personal and family health history, other risk factors, and optional services the executive adds—cost can vary executive-to-executive and appointment-to-appointment. In the interest of transparency, we are able to share cost estimates for our standard protocol of services by gender, age, visit, and campus. For more detail on cost please inquire or apply.
Yes. Insurance coverage can, of course, vary by carrier, plan, and appointment specifics. But our finance and billing team can bill clinical services within Executive Health Program appointments through insurance. While not everything is covered by insurance, the majority of a visit is typically covered by insurance.
