Kate McVey, Ph.D., L.P., is a licensed clinical psychologist and member of the Adult Transitions Program team at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester.

Dr. McVey earned her doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science and completed internship training at the Lexington VA Medical Center in Lexington, KY. She then completed a two year post-doctoral training in organizational development psychology with the VHA National Center for Organization Development (NCOD).

Dr. McVey's clinical practice focuses on cognitive behavioral therapy concepts to address a wide-range of mental health conditions. She has expertise in treating obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), anxiety disorders, panic attacks, and similar disorders (e.g., trichotillomania or dermatillomania) using Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). She is also trained in cognitive processing therapy (CPT) and other trauma-informed therapies for the treatment of PTSD and related conditions. Her research interests include quality and process improvement and psychotherapy outcomes at the individual and group levels. Dr. McVey is also a Psychiatry/Psychology Quality Improvement Fellow.
