Muhib Khan, M.B.B.S.

Muhib Khan, M.B.B.S., M.D., RPNI, is a vascular neurologist in the Division of Cerebrovascular Diseases in Department of Neurology at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN. He received his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree from Aga Khan University in Karachi, Pakistan in 2005. He completed an internship and research associate training at Aga Khan University, Karachi, Pakistan. He completed his neurology residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI from 2008-2012 and vascular neurology fellowship at the University of Massachusetts. He was on the faculty at Brown University Medical Center, and was then a staff vascular neurologist at Spectrum Health and Clinical Associate Professor at Michigan State University.

He had numerous internal and regional leadership roles including Division Chief, Inpatient Neurology, Director of the Comprehensive Stroke Center, leadership roles in the vascular neurology fellowship, and served as Chair of the State of Michigan Stroke Systems of Care Task Force.

Dr. Khan's clinical practice focus is cryptogenic stroke in young patients specially patent foramen ovale related stroke, cervical artery dissection, cerebral venous sinus thrombosis, cerebral amyloid angiopathy, stroke recovery specially using neuromodulation to enhance post stroke recovery and use of transcranial doppler in the evaluation of etiology of stroke.

He has published numerous peer-reviewed publications and has presented his research nationally and internationally. Dr. Khan's research focus is imaging and molecular biomarkers of stroke recovery, disparities of stroke care in rural communities and advanced applications of transcranial doppler in stroke evaluation.

In addition to treating stroke patients in the hospital, stroke clinic and through telestroke, Dr. Khan serves as the Director of the Neurosonology Laboratory at Mayo Clinic, Rochester.
