Biographical summary
Philippe Bauer, M.D., Ph.D., dedicates the major portion of his time to intensive care (ICU), focusing on the management of critically ill patients, that includes medical and surgical patients and the immunosuppressed. He also participates in the interstitial lung disease clinic and the pulmonary function lab.
He works within a multidisciplinary team in close collaboration with nurses, respiratory therapists, physical and occupational therapists, nurse practitioners and physician assistants, and clinical pharmacists. He teaches generation after generation of residents and fellows during their pulmonary and critical care rotations.
He has a strong collaborative relationship with intensivists at Mayo Clinic, and around the world, and is a member of the Nine-I (caring for critically ill immunocompromised patients) study group.
