Biographical summary
Dr. D. Chamil Codipilly, M.D., is a board-certified Senior Associate Consultant in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. He has a research and clinical focus on esophageal diseases, particularly the identification of risk factors for diagnosis of, as well as management of, Barrett's esophagus and early stage esophageal cancer. He also has clinical interests in benign esophageal disorders such as gastroesophageal reflux disease, achalasia, and eosinophilic esophagitis.
Dr. Codipilly obtained his medical degree from the Stony Brook University School of Medicine. He then completed internal medicine residency training and gastroenterology & hepatology fellowship training at the Mayo Clinic (Rochester). He subsequently completed a year of advanced esophageal diseases fellowship prior to joining the division as staff.
