At Mayo Clinic, ear, nose and throat specialists (otorhinolaryngologists) work with experts in plastic and reconstructive surgery, oral and maxillofacial surgery, pathology, radiation oncology, and oncology, to form a multidisciplinary team to care for people with ameloblastoma. Other professionals are included as needed.
At Mayo Clinic, a variety of professionals will work with you to help you maintain your quality of life during and after ameloblastoma treatment. This team may include dietitians, speech and language therapists, swallowing therapists, physical therapists, and specialists who make artificial replacements for missing teeth or other damaged natural structures in the mouth (prosthodontists).

Treatment options include surgery to remove the tumor, reconstructive surgery if needed and sometimes radiation therapy.

Expertise and rankings
- Advanced testing and analysis. Mayo Clinic pathologists have expertise in analyzing and diagnosing rare tumors, such as ameloblastoma. Pathologists examine cell samples to determine what types of cells are involved in the tumor and whether they're noncancerous (benign) or cancerous (malignant). Your doctor uses this information to put together an appropriate treatment plan for you that can effectively treat your tumor.
- Experience treating rare tumors. Though ameloblastoma is a rare tumor, each year Mayo Clinic experts treat almost 150 people who have ameloblastoma.
