The research interests of Rene L. Utianski, Ph.D., CCC-SLP include neurogenic motor speech disorders (the dysarthrias and apraxia of speech), degenerative language disorders (aphasia), and functional speech disturbances. The primary focus of her research has been on defining the distinguishing clinical and acoustic characteristics of these neurologic disorders, establishing their neurologic and electrophysiologic correlates, and refining their differential diagnosis.
