Biographical summary
Karine Shebaclo, M.D., is an oculofacial plastic and orbital surgeon with expertise in reconstructive, aesthetic, and functional periocular procedures. Her clinical practice includes the evaluation and management of eyelid and lacrimal disorders, orbital disease, and periocular reconstruction with integrated aesthetic considerations.
Dr. Shebaclo earned her bachelor's degree summa cum laude through the Science, Technology, and International Affairs Honors Program at Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service, followed by a master's degree in international health economics from the London School of Economics. She received her medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine and completed a transitional internship at Weiss Memorial Hospital in Chicago, as well as an ophthalmology residency at Georgetown University Hospital/MedStar Washington Hospital Center, where she served as Chief Resident and received teaching awards. She completed a prestigious ASOPRS-accredited fellowship in oculofacial plastic and orbital surgery at Wills Eye Hospital.
Dr. Shebaclo's clinical interests include thyroid eye disease, orbital tumors and inflammatory disease, eyelid malposition, lacrimal obstruction, and periocular reconstructive and cosmetic surgery. She remains actively engaged in multidisciplinary research and educational initiatives. She speaks English, Spanish, Arabic, and French.
