Biographical summary
Tisha Lunsford M.D., is a gastroenterologist with specialty interest and expertise in disorders of gastrointestinal motility such as impaired movement, emptying or pain of the esophagus, stomach, small intestines or colon.
- Comprehensive management of patients with functional bowel disorders such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Constipation, Diarrhea, Bloating, Functional Dyspepsia, Chronic Nausea and Vomiting, Abdominal Pain and other GI disorders.
- Comprehensive management and integrated treatment approach for GI conditions in the context of important coexisting illnesses such as Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), Diabetes, Celiac Disease and Joint Hypermobility Syndromes.
- Comprehensive management of patients with Fecal Incontinence.
In addition to her clinical activities, Dr. Lunsford is active in research and medical education and training and has served in key roles in graduate and undergraduate medical education in both digestive diseases and in culinary medicine (expertise in the role that diet, macro- and micronutrients play in digestive health and disease). Her research interests include assessing the mind-gut connection and exploring the role that medical, psychological, lifestyle and dietary interventions have in alleviating symptoms.
Dr. Lunsford is Director of the Motility Interest Group at Mayo Clinic Arizona.
