Kevin Koo, M.D., M.P.H., is a urologist specializing in the medical and surgical management of urinary stone disease. His clinical interests include:
- Endoscopic and minimally invasive surgery for urinary stones
- Medical and metabolic management of urinary stone disease
- Staghorn calculus
- Cystinuria
- Transplant kidney stones
Dr. Koo maintains an active multidisciplinary research program studying the pathophysiology of urinary stone disease. He leads clinical trials evaluating new technologies that can enhance surgeon and patient safety and strengthen trainee performance. He participates in the clinical education of students, residents, and fellows and conducts research in surgical education science. Dr. Koo is also a nationally recognized leader in health policy and advocacy and previously served as a fellow at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
