Biographical summary
Craig H. Bennett, M.D., F.A.A.O.S., is the head orthopedic surgeon for the NBA Minnesota Timberwolves and team physician for the WNBA Minnesota Lynx. He is the co-founder and previous medical director of the LifeBridge Health Sports Medicine Institute in Baltimore, Maryland that was founded in 2018. Prior to that position, Dr. Bennett served 15 years as the head orthopedic surgeon for
the University of Maryland Terrapins and Chief of Orthopedic Sports Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He is a former head orthopedic surgeon for the NFL Baltimore Ravens and associate team physician with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Dr. Bennett is American Board of Orthopedic Surgery board re-certified and cares for a full range of sports related injuries for patients of all ages. Providing compassionate,
comprehensive care, he has helped patients achieve their goals both with and without surgery for over two decades. He is actively involved in orthopedic education and is the present chair of the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine Diversity Committee.
Dr. Bennett has a particular expertise in treating athletic injuries of the knee, ankle, shoulder and hip. He sub-specializes in the treatment of complex knee ligament and cartilage injuries for patients of all ages and performs knee replacements and osteotomies for knee malalignment. Dr. Bennett's management of ankle region injuries includes ankle arthroscopy, ligament repair, Achilles
tendon repair as well as ankle and 5th metatarsal fracture fixation. Additionally, his expertise extends to treatment of a variety of shoulder injuries, including shoulder instability, rotator cuff tears.
